the extent of the collages.
In September 1962, Islington Borough Council sued Joe and Kenneth
for damages in connection with mutilation of some hundreds of
library books. In the flat upstairs were upwards of 1,600 loose
plates removed from Islington's books. They were sentenced to
six months imprisonment and fined forty shillings. A subsequent
case in the Civil Court was also successful and damages and costs
of £262 17s 6d were awarded to the council.
